Artist Statement
I have always been drawn to water. From the ocean to a stream. From lakes to swimming pools. The way water moves, and flows mesmerizes me. How it is always changing and never looks the same twice. This is what draws me to work with resins as a medium. It is a liquid that changes with every mood. And it never looks the same twice. That is the challenge and frustration. It's like trying to control water. It is impossible to duplicate any one piece and every piece is truly one of a kind.
I use many different pigment types to change the color and the mood of the resin. The depth and vibrancy of the colors and how they work with and against each other never ceases to amaze me. Resin draws me in. Just like water it ebbs and flows and learning to go with that flow in this world of ours is what keeps me coming back.
My Medium
I primarily work with epoxy resins along with many different pigment types. I also work with acrylics and oil paints. I pour on canvas and wood depending on the need and mood.
My Inspiration
I enjoy the outdoors in my spare time and many of my pieces are directly influenced by the time I get to spend in nature. I love working with a medium that moves like water.
